Rules & OOC

   RULE ONE.
RESPECT:-
I will be respectful of your boundaries-thus, be respectful of mine.
I have a severe phobia of fungi and parasitic infections-if given a heads up first, I will be alright. Please do not press a topic such as that, or triggering topics, if I'm uncomfortable and say to stop.
   RULE TWO.
MUTUALITY:-
You are as deserving of honesty and equal footing as I am-please do not attempt to Godmode, control, or otherwise OOCly force actions onto my character, or metagame. If it comes to such a trouble, I will likely speak to you beforehand about concerns, in the case of confusions or mistakes in communication.
This also goes for shipping-I love to write romance and otherwise, however it has to be based in actual character and interaction chemistry to pursue anything.
   RULE THREE.
EXPLICIT INTERACTIONS:-
I am very, very unlikely to write smut with anyone unless I am comfortable with them-I usually have to establish a friendship first. I don't really do ERP without plot. I do like to joke about sexual things often, but please don't try to push me or my OCs into sexual situations if I say no.
I only write with individuals over 18.

   RULE FOUR.
SEPARATION:-
Please know that IC does not equal OOC, and I hold that to others as well-please know I'm literally just a small-pint homosexual IRL, and I always want to talk things out if they make you uncomfortable! If anything goes wrong or you have any inquiries about my character you can absolutely message or send me a /tell, Dyric is an ass but OOC I don't like to be!
   RULE FIVE.
THEMES:-
I don't mind darker themes and multiple types of RP, I'm open to most anything! Though, there are a few hard extremes I won't write such as sexually explicit assault themes and things similar-especially involving underage individuals.
If you are involved in actively writing sexually explicit things with underage characters or individuals, please avoid.
   RULE SIX.
AVAILABILITY:-
I usually write in larger FC-based settings to get involved with people, however asking to write with me is always welcome! Please keep in mind, however, that I have many IRL limitations to my energy, and a rotating sleep schedule. I am always happy to, if needed, put a pin in an RP and pick it back up when we can both sit down to write, or shifting it to discord, but will not tolerate aggression or guilting on part of my real life intervening in writing.

.  OOC   .

Hi, I'm Scott/Icarus! I'm Australian, and somewhat shy in the game's RP scene, but otherwise still trying to be open and friendly!
I transferred over from WoW RP, and have been writing for 10+ years.
I happen to be disabled both physically and mentally, as well as being on the spectrum-thus, I tend to get a little bit overwhelmed and overloaded at times, and may have moments where I get lost or have to rest due to low energy.
Despite this, I have a passion for the possibilities that RP brings, and I love to see what people create, and how they interact with the creativity around them. I have successfully DMed and Co-DMed multiple small-scale campaigns for guilds and FCs over the years, and like to generate homebrew from interactions.
If I ask for VC when we are writing please know it's just because of my anxious nature, I tend to find it a bit easier to write sometimes if I'm vibing in chats with someone-but I will always take no for an answer!
I use Mare-you are welcome to ask for mine on discord, twitter, or tumblr-or to inquire about syncshell joining-I like to be in syncshells as it means I get to see others' characters as they do! Please do not talk to me about mods and Mare ingame, however, given it is an active risk, and I don't want either you or I at risk!

Personal & Physical

. PERSONAL .•   Name: Dyric Keldreis
•   Age: 25
•   Gender|Pronouns: Transmale (He/Him/His)
•   Nameday: 32nd sun of the 6th Astral Moon
•   Alignment: Neutral Evil
•   Sexuality: Homoflexible
•   Marital Status: Taken/Open Polycule
•   Occupation: A wood warder in raising, Dyric now works for the Adders in the upper ranks-as well as hunting primals on outreach for the Scions-an overtly stressful situation, though he often takes himself to task to rise to the occasion despite his frankly insane workload.
•   Skills: Given his raising, Dyric is able to be fully self-sufficient in the wilds-knowing how to craft clothes and shelter, maintain food sources and clean water, as well as concoct basic medicines via herbal remedies and aether healing.
He is a practiced hunter and tracker, and knows himself well about the glaive and bow, as well as learning how to handle himself unarmed in a fight.
Of recent years, he's taken himself to learning a few leadership skills to better manage the Adders recruits underneath his watch, even if he is a bit harsh with it.Perhaps a more casual skill than others' necessity, he's taken quite quickly to woodcarving in brief spare time to whittle away stress.

•   Patron Deity/Origin Religion: Nymeia | The Green Word
•   Birthplace: Bysnoe, Golmore Jungle
•   Personality: Dyric is somewhat unaccustomed to the goings-on of society, especially being a clan-born Viera and, once, a wood-warder. His manner is not unfriendly as it may seem at first, and though he can seem openly very stern and serious upon the job, it often gives way to a more awkward social rigidness and distance that comes from longterm isolation, as well as avoidance of close relationships and aggressive manner granted from his time as a warder.
He can tend to be well-meaning, given everything, and is known to give it his all when it comes to serious business-though he tends to be somewhat of a pessimistic, bluntly forward and apathetic bastard, with an overt curiosity to the goings-on inside people's heads that lead him to incidental manipulative behaviours.
He can be open and friendly once his nerves are overcome-and can be somewhat of one to draw people into the fold on impulse-even if he has a bad habit of towards that manipulative impulse.
It's not often he lets people in close and personal to himself, even if physically involved-an often case for many, with more of an impulse for physical attentions than wanting for anything deeper-and, as such, he can be difficult to deal with; A consistent runner from emotion that lies too close to heart.

. PHYSICAL .•   Height: 5'7
•   Race: Viera
•   Clan: Rava
•   Build: Short, but stocky. A survivalist's build
•   Hair: Dark brown and thick, often tied back or to the side-stray locks drape down at the sides of his face often
•   Eyes: Vivid amber
•   Distinguishing Features: Once long, sloped ears are cut and chopped-one is almost entirely missing, and the other is tattered, notches cut from it up until it is completely torn off halfway-though it is much easier to see when it is still.
His outward behavior can seem very brisk, but the ears are somewhat of a giveaway to his disposition-especially the right as it tends to ticc when he's thinking or processing information. His clawed hands, as well, are often twitching and shifting, or grabbing at his bag or armour straps, watchful in demeanour if not a little paranoid.
Scars line his body, and thick fur can be glimpsed past open shirt and sleeves, leading down to a thick tail, and large paws at the end of elongated legs.

•   Weapons: Dyric is most often seen with a pair of vicious sickle-glaives at his sides-dark metal, engraved with runes.
Less common but still present is a compound hunting bow he's known to carry at times for hunting both animal and poacher alike beneath the Shroud's shadowing boughs.
•   Common Accessories: Pendants line his armour and lace around his neck-trinkets, here and there.
Much harder to see beneath his shirt collar, an emblem of a minor Ishgardian house is settled in the center of those around his neck-a barony, House Laval. Alongside it is a woven cord with a xaela scale, mottled tan and white by pigmentation scarring.
Much more obvious in immediate is the rather unsettling wailers mask that covers his face-he's more often seen with it than without, and prefers to hide himself and his reactions behind the intimidating visage-and, as well, a line of linkpearls that run along his remaining ear.
He often carries many bags and pockets for items that he gathers in his wandering.

Associations

Aarlos Smith

A man of succinct word and honest heart, Dyric met him via accosting him in the Golmore-a demand for knowledge led to him following Aarlos back to Eorzea, and through attachment of trust, following him everywhere else.
A Brume machinist and brilliant engineer, the elezen remains ever-humble, enthusiastic, and above all, kind; He remains just about one of the most effective moral compasses the viera has.
Needless to say, Dyric would walk himself into hell itself for the man, despite the fact that Aarlos does not wish this in the slightest.

Gan of the Qestir

A wanderer from the Steppe.
Gan and Dyric met amidst a free company's business and quickly found a friendship, and over time a love as well- though the Qestir will more readily call it such than Dyric will.
Gan is a soft, steady soul, and encourages Dyric to be more honest with himself-and the viera, albeit protective of him, knows well to listen to his advice and aid.

Whisper Blackbramble

There isn't exactly a word to describe what Whispers and Dyric are to each other. "Close" is good enough. First encountering each other in one of the many Duskwight hermitages below Gridania, Whispers found, if not a friend, then a fascination in the woodwarder. Fascination turned to awe, and awe to devotion when Whispers saw Dyric slay a primal--being that their family revered as gods. From there, Whispers decreed that they would follow Dyric anywhere, and so they did--all the way to the surface-world of Eorzea.
A somber being with hidden depths, Whispers is best described as 'intense'. Whether keeping silent and out of sight or speaking at length on something they enjoy, there is a relentless passion and wonder to their every doing; that thirst for new experiences which drove them to the surface drives them further still.

Belfort Ronsard

Hired by the Scions as a short-term guide, one might have thought the mercenary would only be a brief encounter- had Dyric not continued to climb in through his window to visit.
A lonely, quiet sort, and rather battered around at that, Bel always seems a little bemused to find himself in the viera's company-and though their closeness has changed, it certainly didn't vanish-much moreso with the shared parentage of their two children.

Marlene Clairemont

A free-roaming fighter and adventurer with a complicated history and a great deal of sorcerous talent. While she and Dyric share a degree of trust and camaraderie, there's a level of uncertainty as well--brought on by a journey to decide the fate of her wife, Yujia Pyrus, and the conflict of interest therein. No matter of spite, of course--rather a difference of opinion on whether the defected Imperial deserved the mercy and love she was offered.Despite said conflict, Dyric and Marlene get along well enough--a product of their shared journey, and their mutual respect for each other as caretakers and protectors.

Robyn Lanner

A recent association, yet a rather quickly close-knit one, Robyn is a link made through interaction with the Moonshadows Archive-a curious and kind individual, with the weight of the world upon his shoulders.
Bonded through mutuality of their situations, Dyric has been quick to place himself into position of a seeming guide for the fluttering bird-as well as taking a fair claim over a good bit of his life through affection.

Ferrand Ronsard

Lord of House Ronsard and lead researcher at the Moonshadows Archive; the two oft cross paths over business and personal matters, much to the lord's quiet vexation.
Ferrand finds the viera manipulative and callous, but is willing to set his differences aside when the situation calls for it-and Dyric knows well that he's a reliable sort that he can call upon should the situation need for it.

I'zaak Tia

Recovered from the fallout of the Ala Mhigan rebellion, I'zaak was a conscript forced away from home in order to protect his tribe; A self-sacrifice that sums him up quite well.
Understanding, kind, and hiding an enthusiastic thrill-chasing streak, I'zaak is a stark contrast to many others in the house-for one, being a morning person-but he's welcome, nonetheless, as Dyric self-deniably 'allowed' him to stay in his home until he became a solid part of their lives.

Amero Corbin

A childhood friend and ever-loyal confidante, Amero is a Veena who often met Dyric at the lingering borders of their territories as teenaged woodwarders-a curious, if not melancholic man, he sparked the wondering of the outside-and encouraged Dyric to leave with the travellers in the territories, to best make sense of the visions that plagued him.
Amero has remained steadfast by his side through all that's happened since coming to Eorzea, and even though he's not a Scion, he ties himself close by the Rava's side and the Scions themselves via aiding with his retainer business.

Tuah'a Damin

Often overtasked, Tuah'a watched over Dyric as his supervisor amidst the Scions; A researcher in all primal matters and a frighteningly strong summoner, he was often tasked with the younger adventurers aiming to take up the tomes of summoning, or the cause of defeating rogue primals.
Although he often found himself worn thin by the viera's tendencies, he stuck by him despite, aiming to lessen any trouble that he should cause-and to ensure that Dyric survived to look after his little ones, after they were born.

Leinunu Leinu

A staunch friend and valiant ally, Leinunu is a member of a now-destroyed colony of deep-shroud lalafell, the current remaining leader of their dying numbers. Dyric encountered him in the last efforts to save their people via his work as an Adders Lieutenant, and they have stuck together ever since.
A gentle soul with a lot to learn about the Eorzean world, he wishes for a better solution to the plight of his own-and has the will and wit to put such into motion, with the right leverage and help-that which Dyric is all too happy to direct his way.

M'sija Tia

Having encountered in the effort to aid in Ala Mhigo's rebellion, M'sija was a voice reason amidst the chaos that unfolded around their invasion of a castrum-in which a rift was opened into the void via Garlean experiments, causing an area-wide incident with catastrophic results. M'sija, though put under duress, rose to the occasion swiftly. He oft displays a similar exhaustive, hard-working nature to the viera, and an aura of leadership forged in fire that Dyric appreciated, in tirelessly working alongside the resistance.
Dyric oft meets up with him on the borders of Gyr Abania to catch up, and always appreciates his presence through Eorzea's scattered chaos.

Hooks & History

Hunter of the Hardy

He was an official blade and primal hunter alongside the Scions, with help of the Echo.Though he was naught more than muscle for the Scion's cause, he takes that job with pride and seriousness-his blades are at call should a primal arise, and he's quick to strike on danger when bid towards it. Many mercenaries or adventurers seeking risky adventure have run into him hunting the next mark he was bid to.

Adder's Tongue

Dyric, after a number of years spent in Gridania, has worked his way up in the ranks of the Twin Adders to first lieutenant, despite some pushback-he is known in the Adders as a bit of a hard-ass, and very strict about his work; He can be spotted on official business for them and following their missives often.

Deep-Shroud Dweller

His time spent in Gridania has been most at work and home in the depths of the Shroud-running communications and connection efforts with the Sylphs, Moogles, and Deep-Shroud dwelling hermitages of Duskwight, in order to ensure they have the supplies needed and to open amicable trade and understanding. They are, in his eyes, His People amidst all the nonsense of Gridania-and he often chases off or 'deals with' adventurers and bandits with a mind to invade their hermitages and villages.

Warder's Tone

A woodwarder from an age a little older in his teenage years when he realised he was a man, his village lay on the outer rings of the Golmore; He was known as rather a trouble to the Garlean attempt to breach the forest, and often attacked with a good number of many other warders in the events of their burnings. Many older viera will recognise his aggression and posturing quite easily as him simply being a younger Warder brat attempting to put himself above in the pecking order by impulse and attitude, as well as his mannerisms bearing heavily still of the culture under the Green Word, even so far from home. Recently, he's been reached out to by many separated from their cultures at an early age, and discussing the close-held culture with those who want to learn.

Druthers Drifter

He can be seen around Buscarron's much easier than anywhere in Gridania's civilised boundaries, having business with the man and often shepherding things back and forth from him to the hermitages. He's on well terms given his neutral status and care for the forest's wellbeing, and those who frequent the Druthers have very likely spotted him-easily recognised by the missing ear.

Rebellion Casualty

Dyric got himself involved in the rebellion in Gyr Abania as the Scions did-the threat it waged onto the borders of his forests too much to ignore, as well as the threat of Imperials lurking on the horizon being something that set his hackles on the rise quicker than anything. It was in the fall of Rhalgr's Reach that he nearly perished-having attempted to intervene with the crown prince's march towards the burning respite, and was subsequently found outside the Reach a battered pile of broken bones-yet barely, by miracle, still alive. He remained involved in Gyr Abania's affairs until Ala Mhigo was freed-from stubborn spite, if anything.

Hailing from the village of Bysnoe, the viera once known as Hreinn spent many a year amidst the wood warders-stubborn enough to survive their training, and once determined in his own course, despite the presence of the echo-and the odd visions it had left him, as he grew. This changed, at first only slight, upon an encounter at the borders of his patrols with a Veena-one who became a fast friend, against their own trained hermitage. The other was much more curious of the world, even within his reclusive state, and had spurred Dyric much the same, especially about the odd fits of visions that had ailed him-until time came that they caught sight of an adventuring party delving into the territories.Refraining from attacking them and instead watching from afar, it took them both a few days of a careful gaze to determine that they were safe, and to approach-instead joining the party and bidding that they leave with their business before the other warders came to run the lot of them through. Amidst they found a few fast friends-especially within the calm company of a duskwight who merely went by Aarlos, who guided them back to Gridania-upon the way deciding their names with help of the elezen-Dyric Keldreis and Amero Corbin.

Dyric's own inquiry and curiosity amidst the ranks of the twin adders as he worked for them led him into contact with a few odd parties-those of which who led him to the Scions of the Seventh Dawn for answers of the source of his visions-and, since then, he has been keeping his own amidst both the Adders and the Scions, frequent as he can be in keeping an eye out around Gridania for trouble, and keeping himself to task to protect those he cares for who reside there-even with the ventures that drag him throughout Eitherys.Within the years leading up to the end of days, he found his world shaken-both with the shock of the amassing change in the world, and with the change of himself-including the arrival of his two children, barely a year as the apocalypse loomed on the horizon. Although it took all of himself and more to keep from toppling into the vastness of nothing within the influence of the blasphemies and his own hard-headed negativity, the breaking of the final days found him burnt down to ash-but still surviving, if only by a thread, to face his colony once more. Now in a new world, with his job done and the Scions publicly scattered, he finds himself in an age of peace-but with no solid bearing, he could truly end up anywhere.
